The UV-C light is absorbed by the organism’s nucleic acids to create sterility, making it incapable of multiplying to infectious numbers. A cell that cannot reproduce is considered dead since it is unable to multiply to infectious numbers within a host.

When UV-C light irradiates onto the titanium dioxide photo catalyst, hydroxyl radicals are generated on the surface of the reactor which in turn oxidize carcinogenic VOC’s, formaldehyde, Pathogenic microorganisms, Bacteria, Fungi and Mold spores resulting in destruction of their molecular bonds converting them into harmless by-products.
